OBJECTIVES

In order to raise awareness about the issue of mental health problems among adolescents and about adapted, integrated and multidisciplinary care as a response, ADOCARE will carry out a series of European and national events. These events will involve research experts, professionals and stakeholders from the concerned sectors (such as health, social, social security/healthcare providers, education, justice�), public authority/Governmental representatives as well as parent and youth organizations.

The events will be opportunities to present the issue and the outcomes of the research under work package 1, to consult and get the support of key stakeholders, to build capacity, to seek support for the creation of adapted care settings for adolescents with mental health problems in the participating Member States including, where possible, through the development of roadmaps.

As a first step, the pool of key stakeholders will be further extended based on the input received from the consultation round of Governmental representatives.�Accordingly, several events will be organized by the project coordinators with scientific input of the research team.

A first high-level European expert symposium in Brussels

Objectives:

  • Present the objectives of the network
  • Present and discuss aspects related to the issue of providing adapted care for adolescents with mental health problems
  • Present the first outcomes of the research
  • Present and approve a plan for the follow-up workshops
  • Organize a discussion round to receive inspiration for possible awareness-raising and capacity-building activities in the 11 Member States

All presentations organized during the symposium will be provided by (1) members of the steering committee and/or (2) members of the expert team or key stakeholder team

Participants: experts, key stakeholders, stakeholders, and other interested parties

Four workshops with experts and key stakeholders

Objective: to consult experts and key stakeholders about the issues defined in WP 1 via discussion rounds

Participants of workshop 1: a group of 20-30 experts in the field of adolescents with mental health problems of the participating Member States

Participants of workshop 2: a group of 20-30 representatives of professional organizations of the participating Member States

Participants of workshop 3: a group of 20-30 representatives of governments of the participating Member States

Participants of workshop 4: a group of 20-30 representatives of parent and youth organizations of the participating Member States

Awareness-raising and capacity-building activities

Objective: to build capacity, to get the support of key stakeholders, to promote exchange between key stakeholders of different Member States

Type of activities: national awareness and capacity building round tables, expert visits, peer reviews, training workshops, information campaigns�

Location: in different Member States with respect to geographical representation

Organized with the help and active input of local experts, members and stakeholders

Second high-level European expert symposium in Brussels

Objectives:

  • Present the conclusions of the first high-level European expert symposium
  • Present the conclusions of the workshops
  • Present the conclusions of the awareness-raising and capacity building activities
  • Set out guidelines and guiding principles for the set up and operation of adapted care settings

All presentations organized during the symposium will be provided by (1) members of the steering committee and (2) members of the expert team or key stakeholder team
